Some people are a little bit cynical about laptop insurance reviews – whether they’re sitting on the internet or in a conventional publication.
That’s maybe a little bit tough because they can be extremely useful.
The cynicism
Yes, it is true that if you look carefully, you may get the impression that the odd negative review has been written by a single individual who just has something against the insurance or insurance provider concerned.
In other cases, the reviews may seem unduly favourable and waxing lyrical about the product or provider – to an extent that worries you about their objectivity.
However, you may find that these sorts of issues are a small minority.
In fact, you can typically find many useful and objective laptop insurance reviews on the internet and they may save you a lot of time.
Using the reviews
If you look for reviews from reputable sources and which you can see have an extensive history of insurance reviews, they may help you ascertain how the policy you’re considering compares to market norms.
For example, you may be able to see some comparisons in terms of:
- price;
- cover provided;
- the terms and conditions;
- customer service perceptions.
These are all things that may prove invaluable to you when you’re making your decision about which policy and provider may be suitable for you.
Reviews of no insurance situations
Sometimes it’s overlooked that reviews tend to concentrate on what’s called the affirmative – i.e. the details of a product or supplier etc.
In the case of laptop insurance, it might be worth also looking for stories and cases where people have suffered significant financial loss, inconvenience and possibly business disruption, because they simply didn’t have laptop insurance in place.
It’s a reasonable question to ask – do you need this type of insurance at all?
If you find an appropriate story or review, the importance of being covered might be re-enforced!
So, don’t dismiss laptop insurance reviews out of hand. They may prove to be a major aid in helping you come to a conclusion and improving your confidence that you’re making the right decision – whatever it may be!
